Globular Clusters around Galaxies in Groups [PDF]
We have obtained deep photometry of NGC 1199 (in HCG 22) and NGC 6868 (in the Telescopium group). Both galaxies are the optically brightest galaxies of their groups. Our analysis of B and R images taken with the Keck II and the VLT/ESO telescopes, detected a population of globular clusters around both galaxies, with total specific frequencies SN = 1.7 ±

Scaling Properties of Galaxy Groups
Galaxy groups and poor clusters are more common than rich clusters, and host the largest fraction of matter content in the Universe. Hence, their studies are key to understand the gravitational and thermal evolution of the bulk of the cosmic matter ...

Not all the light in galaxy groups and clusters comes from stars that are bound to galaxies. A significant fraction of it constitutes the so-called intracluster or diffuse light (ICL), a low surface brightness component of groups/clusters generally found

EESSI: A cross‐platform ready‐to‐use optimised scientific software stack
Abstract Getting scientific software installed correctly and ensuring it performs well has been a ubiquitous problem for several decades now, which is compounded currently by the changing landscape of computational science with the (re‐)emergence of different microprocessor families, and the expansion to additional scientific domains like artificial ...

Genome‐wide identification and biological relevance of broccoli aquaporins
Abstract Broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica) is an important crop worldwide, and its regular consumption is associated with health benefits due to the presence of various bioactive compounds. An optimal water balance and homeostasis are needed for plant growth; in this sense, aquaporins play a crucial role.

The Effect of Age on the Grouping of Open Clusters: II—Are There Old Binary Clusters?
In the present study, we continue testing the Primordial Group hypothesis (Casado 2022), which postulates that only sufficiently young open clusters can be binary or multiple, and old clusters are essentially single.

LoTSS jellyfish galaxies: II. Ram pressure stripping in groups versus clusters [PDF]
Numerous examples of ram pressure stripping in galaxy clusters are present in literature; however, substantially less work has been focused on ram pressure stripping in lower mass groups. In this work we use the LOFAR Two-metre Sky Survey (LoTSS) to search for jellyfish galaxies in ~500 SDSS groups (z<0.05), making this the most comprehensive search ...
