Photosensitivity at 1550 nm and Bragg grating inscription in As2Se3 microwires [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We report the first experimental observation of photosensitivity in As2Se3 glass at a wavelength of 1550 nm. We utilize this photosensitivity to induce the first Bragg gratings using a laser source at a wavelength of 1550 nm. We quantify the photosensitivity thresholds related to exposition intensity and exposition time.

A Study of the Operation of Especially Designed Photosensitive Gaseous Detectors at Cryogenic Temperatures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In some experiments and applications there is need for large-area photosensitive detectors to operate at cryogenic temperatures. Nowadays, vacuum PMs are usually used for this purpose. We have developed special designs of planar photosensitive gaseous detectors able to operate at cryogenic temperatures.

Optical Sensor Based on a Single CdS Nanobelt

open access: yesSensors, 2014
In this paper, an optical sensor based on a cadmium sulfide (CdS) nanobelt has been developed. The CdS nanobelt was synthesized by the vapor phase transportation (VPT) method.

Polymorph-induced photosensitivity change in titanylphthalocyanine revealed by the charge transfer integral

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2019
The crystal form of semiconductor materials is keenly correlated with the photosensitivity of optoelectronic devices. Thus, understanding the crystal form-dependent photosensitivity mechanism is critical.

Functional and structural features of the retina, fixation characteristics and their correlations with visual acuity in nystagmus and amblyopia of various origins

open access: yesРоссийский офтальмологический журнал, 2022
Purpose. To study the parameters of visual fixation, photosensitivity of the retina in the macular region, thickness of the central region of the retina and the choroid and their relationship with the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and refraction in

Delayed photosensitivity in a child with erythropoietic protoporphyria : a case report

open access: yesSAGE Open Medical Case Reports, 2018
Erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP) is a genetically inherited disease that causes protoporphyrin accumulation in erythrocytes, skin, liver, bile, and stool. Clinically this manifests as photosensitivity with painful, edematous cutaneous porphyria.

Measurement of CT radiation beam width with a pencil ionization chamber and radiopaque mask

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study compares fan beam CT scanner radiation beam widths measured with a pencil ionization chamber‐radiopaque mask technique with commonly used film and computed radiography (CR) measurements. Methods For a given fan beam CT scanner x‐ray beam, the ionization chamber‐mask technique determines the radiation beam width by exposing a

Kindler′s syndrome: A tale of two siblings

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dermatology, 2016
Kindler′s syndrome (KS) is a rare inherited skin disease characterized by acral blistering, photosensitivity, progressive poikiloderma, and cutaneous atrophy along with different types of mucosal involvement. We hereby report KS in two siblings. The case

Asymmetric Oxidation of Giant Vesicles triggers Curvature-associated Shape Transition and Permeabilization. Running title: Oxidation of Vesicles produces Curvature [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, Biophysical Society, 2009, 97 (11), pp.2904-2912, 2019
(200 words) Oxidation of unsaturated lipids is a fundamental process involved in cell bioenergetics as well as in cell death. Using giant unilamellar vesicles and a chlorin photosensitizer, we asymmetrically oxidized the outer or inner monolayers of lipid membranes.
