XMM-Newton Discovery of the X-ray Transient XMMU J181227.8-181234 in the Galactic Plane [PDF]
Mon.Not.Roy.Astron.Soc.369:1965-1971,2006, 2006 We report the discovery of an X-ray transient, observed in outburst with XMM-Newton on March 20, 2003, and with position 18h12m27.8s, -18 12 34 (J2000, approximate positional error 2"). No known source is present at this position and the source was not detected during published ROSAT or ASCA observations of that region.

Advanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.Wire cutting decomposes large quantum circuits into smaller subcircuits by severing connecting wires, enabling execution on multiple distributed devices. This study employs non‐maximally entangled (NME) states in joint wire cuts to reduce their overhead.

Astrophys.J.649:150-162,2006, 2006 We derive observed Halpha and R band luminosity densities of an HI-selected sample of nearby galaxies using the SINGG sample to be l_Halpha' = (9.4 +/- 1.8)e38 h_70 erg s^-1 Mpc^-3 for Halpha and l_R' = (4.4 +/- 0.7)e37 h_70 erg s^-1 A^-1 Mpc^-3 in the R band.

Nowcasting in a Pandemic using Non-Parametric Mixed Frequency VARs [PDF]
arXiv, 2020 This paper develops Bayesian econometric methods for posterior inference in non-parametric mixed frequency VARs using additive regression trees. We argue that regression tree models are ideally suited for macroeconomic nowcasting in the face of extreme observations, for instance those produced by the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020.
