Regularized Fuzzy Neural Networks to Aid Effort Forecasting in the Construction and Software Development [PDF]
Predicting the time to build software is a very complex task for software engineering managers. There are complex factors that can directly interfere with the productivity of the development team. Factors directly related to the complexity of the system to be developed drastically change the time necessary for the completion of the works with the ...

We describe a novel set of Epac‐based FRET‐FLIM biosensors with improved fully cytosolic distribution, achieved without compromising the state‐of‐the‐art performance of our original designs, for detecting cAMP dynamics in real time in live cells with high precision and reliability.

Happy software developers solve problems better: psychological measurements in empirical software engineering [PDF]
For more than 30 years, it has been claimed that a way to improve software developers' productivity and software quality is to focus on people and to provide incentives to make developers satisfied and happy. This claim has rarely been verified in software engineering research, which faces an additional challenge in comparison to more traditional ...

The mitochondrial outer membrane iron–sulphur ([Fe‐S]) protein mitoNEET is a target of the type‐2 diabetes drug pioglitazone. Its unknown molecular function is linked to respiratory complex activity and mitochondrial function. We discovered that O2 protects the mitoNEET [2Fe‐2S] cluster against NO oxidation and desensitization towards reduction by H2S.

The glacier ice worm Mesenchytraeus solifugus survives year‐round at 0 °C. Its ATP6 subunit, which forms a regulatory component of the proton pore in mitochondrial ATP synthase, has a carboxy‐terminal extension not found in any other organism examined to date. Here, we show that fusion of this extension to the homologous AtpB protein in E. coli results

Towards a Structural Equation Model of Open Source Blockchain Software Health [PDF]
The widespread use of GitHub among software developers as a communal platform for coordinating software development has led to an abundant supply of publicly accessible data. Ever since the inception of Bitcoin, blockchain teams have incorporated the concept of open source code as a fundamental principle, thus making the majority of blockchain-based ...

In modular polyketide synthases, the dehydratase (DH) domain catalyzes the dehydration reaction of the β‐hydroxyacyl unit attached to the cognate acyl carrier protein (ACP) domain. However, it is unclear how DH interacts with ACP during the reaction. In this study, we identified DH–ACP interface residues, providing the first detailed insights into DH ...

A Requirements Engineering Technology for the IoT Software Systems [PDF]
Contemporary software systems (CSS), such as the internet of things (IoT) based software systems, incorporate new concerns and characteristics inherent to the network, software, hardware, context awareness, interoperability, and others, compared to conventional software systems.

LHCPs are transported to the thylakoid membrane via the (cp)SRP pathway. This process involves a transit complex of (cp)SRP43, (cp)SRP54 and LHCP, which interacts with (cp)FtsY and Alb3 at the membrane. GTP hydrolysis by (cp)SRP54 and (cp)FtsY triggers complex dissociation.

This study explores the distinct molecular mechanisms underlying Lynch syndrome‐associated and sporadic colorectal cancer (CRC). By highlighting the therapeutic potential of targeting the PI3K‐Akt pathway in Lynch syndrome‐associated CRC and the Wnt pathway in sporadic CRC, the findings open avenues for personalised treatment strategies, aiming to ...
