Ultrasound‐Induced Nitric Oxide‐Propelled Nanomotor for Multimodal Theranostics of Cancer with Deep Penetration and Extended Lifetime

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A hollow nanomotor (PM‐HMSN/Arg) propelled by ultrasound‐triggered nitric oxide (NO) was developed. The nanomotor employs a “tethering‐relaxing‐drilling” mechanism to overcome biological barriers, enabling multimodal theranostics of cancer with deep penetration and extended lifetime.

Penetrating renal injuries: an observational study of non-operative management and the impact of opening Gerota’s fascia

open access: yesWorld Journal of Emergency Surgery, 2022
Background Non-operative management has become increasingly popular in the treatment of renal trauma. While data are robust in blunt mechanisms, the role of non-operative management in penetrating trauma is less clear. Additionally, there is a paucity of

Do Patients with Penetrating Abdominal Stab Wounds Require Laparotomy?

open access: yesArchives of Trauma Research, 2013
Background The optimal management of hemodynamically stable asymptomatic patients with anterior abdominal stab wounds (AASWs) remains controversial. The goal is to identify and treat injuries in a safe cost-effective manner.

A MXene‐Based Nanothermal Knife Inhibits Aggresome‐Mediated Persister Formation for Preventing Dental Caries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Early childhood caries (ECC) involves cariogenic persisters that evade antimicrobial treatment. Persisters achieve this by downregulating heat shock proteins (HSPs) and formation of protein aggregates. Ti3C2 MXene‐based photothermal therapy (PTT) acts as a “nanothermal knife,” disrupting membranes, upregulating HSPs, inhibits aggregates, prevents ...

Spontaneous Recovery of Penetrating Cervical Spinal Cord Injury with Physiotherapeutic Treatment: Case Report and Review of the Literature

open access: yesCase Reports in Neurological Medicine, 2021
Stab wounds to the cervical spine are less common than injuries from road accidents, sports injuries, and falls. The presence of vital, vascular, neural, respiratory, and digestive structures in the neck region mean that this kind of spinal injury is ...
