Does the Fornax dwarf spheroidal have a central cusp or core? [PDF]
The dark matter dominated Fornax dwarf spheroidal has five globular clusters orbiting at ~1 kpc from its centre. In a cuspy CDM halo the globulars would sink to the centre from their current positions within a few Gyrs, presenting a puzzle as to why they

Enhanced tidal stripping of satellites in the galactic halo from dark matter self-interactions [PDF]
We investigate the effects of self-interacting dark matter (SIDM) on the tidal stripping and evaporation of satellite galaxies in a Milky Way-like host.

The impact of dark matter cusps and cores on the satellite galaxy population around spiral galaxies [PDF]
(Abridged) We use N-body simulations to study the effects that a divergent (i.e. "cuspy") dark matter (DM) profile introduces on the tidal evolution of dwarf spheroidal galaxies (dSphs). Our models assume cosmologically-motivated initial conditions where

Mimetic Gravity: A Review of Recent Developments and Applications to Cosmology and Astrophysics
Mimetic gravity is a Weyl‐symmetric extension of General Relativity, related to the latter by a singular disformal transformation, wherein the appearance of a dust‐like perfect fluid can mimic cold dark matter at a cosmological level. Within this framework, it is possible to provide a unified geometrical explanation for dark matter, the late‐time ...

Modified gravity models and the central cusp of dark matter haloes in galaxies [PDF]
The N-body dark matter (DM) simulations point that DM density profiles, e.g. the Navarro Frenk White (NFW) halo, should be cuspy in its centre, but observations disfavour this kind of DM profile.

Bose‐Einstein Condensate Dark Matter Halos Confronted with Galactic Rotation Curves
We present a comparative confrontation of both the Bose‐Einstein Condensate (BEC) and the Navarro‐Frenk‐White (NFW) dark halo models with galactic rotation curves. We employ 6 High Surface Brightness (HSB), 6 Low Surface Brightness (LSB), and 7 dwarf galaxies with rotation curves falling into two classes.

The dark halo of the Hydra I galaxy cluster: core, cusp, cosmological? Dynamics of NGC 3311 and its globular cluster system [PDF]
NGC 3311 is the central cD galaxy of the Hydra I cluster. We use globular clusters around NGC 3311, combined with kinematical data of the galaxy itself, to investigate the dark matter distribution in the central region of Hydra I.

Dark Atoms and the Positron‐Annihilation‐Line Excess in the Galactic Bulge
It was recently proposed that stable particles of charge −2, O−−, can exist and constitute dark matter after they bind with primordial helium in O‐helium (OHe) atoms. We study here in detail the possibility that this model provides an explanation for the excess of gamma radiation in the positron‐annihilation line from the galactic bulge observed by ...
