Journal of the Fuel Society of Japan, 1954 滞米中の見聞を基礎として, 石油化学工業の発展経緯, 現況, 原料とその分離精製法, 製造法, 綜合体系などを概説し, 最後に本邦における同工業の発展性を考察している。わが石油精製および合成化学工業界では本工業に対する関心が高まつているが, 各々の立揚に固執し, その実施は容易にふみ切りのつかぬ状態であると, 筆者は判定し, 原料資源には乏しいわが国としてはむしろ輸入原油を原料として有利に本工業を実施すべきであるとして, その速かな実現を要望している。
