The VIRGO injection system, designed to provide a stable single-frequency 20 W laser to the VIRGO interferometer, is under commissioning. All functions have been demonstrated to work close to requirements, and the integration of all of them is in progress. PACS number: 0480N (Some figures in this article are in colour only in the electronic version)

Injection System. Part II—Injection Optics
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1953The injection optical system, through which the 3.6-Mev proton beam from the Van de Graaff accelerator enters the Cosmotron, consists primarily of a deflecting magnet and an electrostatic inflector in which the beam is deflected through angles of 25° and 30°, respectively.

A New Angiographic Injection System
The British Journal of Radiology, 1967At the present time most injectors are calibrated in pounds per square inch or kilograms per square centimetre and the flow rate is determined accoringly. Nomographs for flow rate conversion are availabe but in actual practice are not used routinely. Unfortunately, in the absence of controlled flow, variations will occur according to several factors ...

Although considered by some to be a batch process, injection molding is really a semicontinuous process. Further, it is also a cyclic process in which plastic granules are heated until melted or thermally softened, forced into a mold and then cooled to a desired shape.

A system to transport 10-to-15-GeV electron and positron beams from the Stanford Linear Accelerator and to inject them into the PEP storage ring under a wide variety of lattice configurations has been designed. Optically, the transport line consists of three 360° phase-shift sections of FODO lattice, with bending magnets interspersed in such a way as ...

Systemic effects of intraligamental injections
Journal of Endodontics, 1986Using a pistol-grip syringe, 0.3 ml of normal saline solution, 2% lidocaine with and without 1:100,000 epinephrine, 3% mepivicaine, and 1:100,000 epinephrine alone were injected into large adult dogs. The intravenous, intraosseous, intrapulpal, subcutaneous, periodontal, intramuscular, and submucosal routes were used.
