Sensitive Period Analysis of Adulthood BMI and Cancer Risk: An Individual Participant Data Meta‐Analysis of Over 720,000 Participants in the ABACus 2 Consortium
International Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 4, Page 960-972, 15 August 2026.Over a dozen cancers have been associated with excess body mass index, primarily in mid‐to‐late adulthood. Whether obesity‐related cancer risk differs across adulthood remains unclear. Using the Sensitive Periods Model and super‐landmarking approaches, this study found that higher BMI increased obesity‐related cancer risk across ages 30–65.Nadin K. Hawwash, Matthew Sperrin, Glen P. Pediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 73, Issue 8, August 2026.ABSTRACT Background
Pediatric sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of tumors that contribute disproportionately to cancer mortality in children. Although congenital anomalies are among the strongest known risk factors for childhood cancer, the risk of specific sarcoma subtypes among affected individuals has not yet been thoroughly evaluated. Pediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 73, Issue 8, August 2026.ABSTRACT
Survivors of childhood cancer face barriers to receiving guideline‐based, long‐term follow‐up care. Two digital tools, Passport for Care (PFC) and Cancer SurvivorLink (SurvivorLink), address complementary gaps by enabling tailored survivorship care plan (SCP) generation, updating, storage, and sharing.Jordan G.
