Scatter Phy: A Physical Layer for the DARPA Spectrum Collaboration Challenge

2019 IEEE International Symposium on Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks (DySPAN), 2019
DARPA has started the Spectrum Collaboration Challenge with the aim to encourage research and development of coexistence and collaboration techniques of heterogeneous networks in the same wireless spectrum bands. Team SCATTER has participated in the challenge from its beginning and is currently preparing for the final phase of the competition.

Low-power LVDS receiver for 1.3Gbps physical layer (PHY) interface

2005 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2005
This paper presents the design of a low voltage differential signaling (LVDS) receiver for a 1.3 Gb/s physical layer (PRY) interface. The receiver supports a wide input common mode range of 0.05 V to 2.35 V and a minimum input differential signal of 100 mV as specified by the IEEE LVDS standard.

LoRa PHY Range Tests and Software Decoding - Physical Layer Security

2019 6th International Conference on Signal Processing and Integrated Networks (SPIN), 2019
LoRa (Long Range) is a recently created patented physical layer protocol for small, low power devices. Networks are being deployed worldwide as LoRa WAN (link layer). The attack surface is growing. This research paper begins by performing range tests of a consumer module physical (PHY) layer.

FFOL transmission services — Issues for a PHY physical layer protocol

Computer Communications, 1992
Abstract The FDDI Follow-On LAN (FFOL) standard is being developed as a successor to FDDI. FFOL, like FDDI, consists of several standards, each a part of the whole. The lower three layers of FFOL standards provide the Transmission Services of FFOL. These are a Physical Layer Medium Dependent (PMD) standard, a Physical Layer Protocol (PHY) standard ...

Physical-layer network coding: A high performance PHY-layer decoder

2016 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2016
Physical-layer network coding (PNC) can potentially boost the throughput of a two-way relay network by 100% compared with conventional packet forwarding schemes. However, the complexity of PNC channel decoders can be considerably higher than the complexity of channel decoders for point-to-point communication systems.
