What Matters Most: The Top 10 Child and Adolescent Cancer Research Priorities in Australia

open access: yesHealth Expectations, Volume 29, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer and their families have unique medical and psychosocial needs. Addressing these requires research centred on issues most relevant to them. Currently, Australia lacks a research agenda grounded in lived experience and clinical expertise to guide inquiry into child and adolescent cancer ...

Low Climate Benefit of Nordic Coastal Marshes: Site Conditions Outweigh Grazing Effects and Shape Trade‐Offs Between Carbon Storage and Its Stability

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 32, Issue 5, May 2026.
Conceptual diagram of soil carbon cycling across climatic and environmental gradients in Nordic marshes and grazing effect. Denmark's warmer climate, high nutrient inputs, elevated salinity, and sandy soils promote rapid microbial decomposition of predominantly labile and root‐derived OC, driving high CO2 emissions and relatively high although unstable

Scoping Review of Sexual and Gender Minority Health Research in Ireland

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Nursing, Volume 82, Issue 5, Page 4625-4659, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To map existing sexual and gender minority (SGM) health research in Ireland, identify gaps in literature and outline priorities for future research and healthcare. SGM is an umbrella term that includes people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or intersex and is sometimes abbreviated as LGBTQI+.

Generating Dynamic Structures Through Physics‐Based Sampling of Predicted Inter‐Residue Geometries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 18, 27 March 2026.
While static structure prediction has been revolutionized, modeling protein dynamics remains elusive. trRosettaX2‐Dynamics is presented to address this challenge. This framework leverages a Transformer‐based network to predict inter‐residue geometric constraints, guiding conformation generation via physics‐based iterative sampling. The resulting method

Design Matters: How Cell Architecture Shapes the Performance, Cost, and Environmental Impact of Battery Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 16, Issue 10, 11 March 2026.
This study introduces a multidimensional framework integrating electrical performance, cost, and life cycle assessment for 140 real and virtual battery cells. Results show that LFP offers low emissions and costs, sodium‐ion excels in resource efficiency, and pouch housings and higher energy densities effectively reduce environmental burdens.

Visitor Perception of Urban Fixtures in Historic Gardens and Implications for Cultural Heritage Tourism

open access: yesInternational Journal of Tourism Research, Volume 28, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
ABSTRACT This study explores how urban fixtures in historic gardens influence visitor perception and their implications for cultural heritage tourism. A total of 363 fixtures were inventoried across six historic gardens in Europe and Türkiye, and 326 participants evaluated their perceptual, esthetic, and emotional responses through an online survey ...

Nurses' Pain Assessment and Attitudes: A Qualitative Study in a Neurointensive Care Unit

open access: yesNursing in Critical Care, Volume 31, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background As analgo‐sedation gains prominence, a significant portion of adult ICU patients—including those in neurointensive care units (neuro‐ICUs)—remain awake and conscious throughout their stay. Despite this, neuro‐ICU patients frequently experience moderate to severe pain, highlighting the critical need for enhanced pain assessment.

Differences in Total Healthcare Costs Among Injured and Non‐Injured Danish Adolescent Handball Players: Data From the Health and Performance Promotion in Youth Sport (HAPPY) Cohort

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Medicine &Science in Sports, Volume 36, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Sports injuries often occur early in life with lasting consequences, but information on healthcare costs related to injuries remains limited. This retrospective cohort study compared total healthcare costs for adolescent handball players (aged 11–17) participating in the one‐season HAPPY study with sport‐related injuries to those without ...

Integration of Soft‐Robotics and Deep Learning to Assess the Coordinated Biosonar Emission and Reception Dynamics in Hipposiderid Bats

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, Volume 2, Issue 1, February 2026.
Combining a biomimetic soft‐robot with deep‐learning data analytics sheds light on a unique peripheral dynamics seen in the biosonar system of bats: Bats modulate their ultrasonic biosonar signals upon emission as well as reception with variable, yet highly coordinated motion patterns of their noseleaves and pinnae.
