High‐Spatiotemporal‐Resolution Ultrasound Flow Imaging to Determine Cerebrovascular Hemodynamics in Alzheimer's Disease Mice Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 10, Issue 35, December 15, 2023., 2023
High‐spatiotemporal‐resolution vector micro‐Doppler imaging (HVμDI) based on contrast‐free ultrafast high‐frequency ultrasound imaging is developed to visualize and quantify the cerebrovascular hemodynamics of the wild‐type (WT) and Alzheimer's disease (AD) mice.

Cusps of hyperbolic 4‐manifolds and rational homology spheres

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 123, Issue 6, Page 636-648, December 2021., 2021
Abstract In the present paper, we construct a cusped hyperbolic 4‐manifold with all cusp sections homeomorphic to the Hantzsche–Wendt manifold, which is a rational homology sphere. By a result of Golénia and Moroianu, the Laplacian on 2‐forms on such a manifold has purely discrete spectrum. This shows that one of the main results of Mazzeo and Phillips

Quasicircles and width of Jordan curves in CP1

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 53, Issue 2, Page 507-523, April 2021., 2021
Abstract We study a notion of ‘width’ for Jordan curves in CP1, paying special attention to the class of quasicircles. The width of a Jordan curve is defined in terms of the geometry of its convex hull in hyperbolic three‐space. A similar invariant in the setting of anti‐de Sitter geometry was used by Bonsante–Schlenker to characterize quasicircles ...

Boundary unique continuation in planar domains by conformal mapping

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Let Ω⊂R2$\Omega \subset \mathbb {R}^2$ be a chord arc domain. We give a simple proof of the the following fact, which is commonly known to be true: a nontrivial harmonic function which vanishes continuously on a relatively open set of the boundary cannot have the norm of the gradient which vanishes on a subset of positive surface measure (arc ...

Quantization of infinitesimal braidings and pre‐Cartier quasi‐bialgebras

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract In this paper, we extend Cartier's deformation theorem of braided monoidal categories admitting an infinitesimal braiding to the nonsymmetric case. The algebraic counterpart of these categories is the notion of a pre‐Cartier quasi‐bialgebra, which extends the well‐known notion of quasi‐triangular quasi‐bialgebra given by Drinfeld.

High‐resolution, volumetric diffusion‐weighted MR spectroscopic imaging of the brain

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 94, Issue 2, Page 450-469, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Purpose To achieve high‐resolution, three‐dimensional (3D) quantitative diffusion‐weighted MR spectroscopic imaging (DW‐MRSI) for molecule‐specific microstructural imaging of the brain. Methods We introduced and integrated several innovative acquisition and processing strategies for DW‐MRSI: (a) a new double‐spin‐echo sequence combining ...

QRAGE—Simultaneous multiparametric quantitative MRI of water content, T1, T2*, and magnetic susceptibility at ultrahigh field strength

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 93, Issue 1, Page 228-244, January 2025.
Abstract Purpose To introduce quantitative rapid gradient‐echo (QRAGE), a novel approach for the simultaneous mapping of multiple quantitative MRI parameters, including water content, T1, T2*, and magnetic susceptibility at ultrahigh field strength. Methods QRAGE leverages a newly developed multi‐echo MPnRAGE sequence, facilitating the acquisition of ...

Accelerated 3D metabolite T1 mapping of the brain using variable‐flip‐angle SPICE

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 92, Issue 4, Page 1310-1322, October 2024.
Abstract Purpose To develop a practical method to enable 3D T1 mapping of brain metabolites. Theory and Methods Due to the high dimensionality of the imaging problem underlying metabolite T1 mapping, measurement of metabolite T1 values has been currently limited to a single voxel or slice.

An analysis of high order FEM and IGA for explicit dynamics: Mass lumping and immersed boundaries

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 125, Issue 16, 30 August 2024.
Summary We investigate the behavior of different shape functions for the discretization of hyperbolic problems. In particular, we consider classical Lagrange polynomials and B‐splines. The studies focus on the performance of the these functions as a spatial discretization approach combined with an explicit time marching scheme.
