Dijet Production at Large Rapidity Intervals

open access: yes, 1993
We examine dijet production at large rapidity intervals at Tevatron energies, by using the theory of Lipatov and collaborators which resums the leading powers of the rapidity interval.

Perturbative QCD Results on Pion Production in pp, pA and AA Collisions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We summarize new pQCD results on pion production in proton-proton (pp), proton-nucleus (pA) and nucleus-nucleus (AA) collisions. Our calculation introduces intrinsic parton transverse momentum (k_T) and is performed effectively at next-to-leading order ...

Prolonged Corrected QT Interval as an Early Electrocardiographic Marker of Cyclophosphamide‐Induced Cardiotoxicity in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Patients

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cyclophosphamide (CY) is associated with potentially fatal cardiotoxicity, yet no electrocardiographic indices have been established for early detection of CY‐induced cardiomyopathy. This study aimed to determine whether corrected QT interval (QTc) prolongation can predict early onset of CY‐related cardiac dysfunction in pediatric ...

Impact of K-factor and active current reduction during fault-ride-through of generating units connected via voltage-sourced converters on power system stability

open access: yes, 2015
This study investigates the impact of the injection of additional reactive current and of active current reduction during fault-ride-through (FRT) of generating units connected to the grid via fully rated voltage-sourced converter (VSC generating units ...

Predicting Chronicity in Children and Adolescents With Newly Diagnosed Immune Thrombocytopenia at the Timepoint of Diagnosis Using Machine Learning‐Based Approaches

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To identify predictors of chronic ITP (cITP) and to develop a model based on several machine learning (ML) methods to estimate the individual risk of chronicity at the timepoint of diagnosis. Methods We analyzed a longitudinal cohort of 944 children enrolled in the Intercontinental Cooperative immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) Study ...

Finiteness for the k-factor model and chirality varieties

open access: yes, 2008
This paper deals with two families of algebraic varieties arising from applications. First, the k-factor model in statistics, consisting of n-times-n covariance matrices of n observed Gaussian variables that are pairwise independent given k hidden ...

QCD corrections to J/psi plus eta_c production in e+e- annihilation at sqrt{s}=10.6 GeV

open access: yes, 2008
Next-to-Leading-Order(NLO) QCD corrections to J/jpsi plus eta_c production in e+e- annihilation at sqrt{s}=10.6 GeV is calculated in this paper, and an analytic result is obtained.

A Systematic Review of Evidence on the Clinical Effectiveness of Surveillance Imaging in Children With Medulloblastoma and Ependymoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Surveillance imaging aims to detect tumour relapse before symptoms develop, but it's unclear whether earlier detection of relapse leads to better outcomes in children and young people (CYP) with medulloblastoma and ependymoma. This systematic review aims to identify relevant literature to determine the efficacy of surveillance magnetic ...

Prognostic Impact of Treatment Modalities, Including Targeted Compartmental Radio‐Immunotherapy, in a Cohort of Neuroblastoma Patients With CNS Metastases at Relapse

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Neuroblastoma (NB) with central nervous system (CNS) metastases is rare at diagnosis, but occurs more often during relapse/progression. Patients with CNS metastases face a dismal prognosis, with no standardized curative treatment available.

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.
