Metal‐free carbon catalysts enable the sustainable synthesis of hydrogen peroxide via two‐electron oxygen reduction; however, active site complexity continues to hinder reliable interpretation. This review critiques correlation‐based approaches and highlights the importance of orthogonal experimental designs, standardized catalyst passports ...

The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

Socioeconomic Influence on the Health of Older People: Estimates Based on Two Longitudinal Surveys [PDF]
There is a strong positive relationship between socioeconomic status (SES) and health, but identifying the direction of causation is difficult. This study exploits the longitudinal nature of two Canadian surveys, the Survey of Labour and Income Dynamics ...

The Impact of Rising 401(k) Pension Coverage on Future Pension Income [PDF]
Using data from the 1992 Health and Retirement Survey and the 1992 Survey of Consumer Finances, this study compares the level of benefits in 401(k), non-401(k) defined contribution (DC), and defined benefit (DB) plans.

Electrochemical CO2RR is a key technology for converting CO2 into chemicals, but there remains a gap between “laboratory science” and “engineering practice” in current research. This review establishes a multi‐scale research framework, encompassing atomic‐level characterization, microenvironment regulation, external field‐assisted optimization, and AI ...

Chiral Metal Halide Perovskites for Spin‐Polarized Light‐Emitting Diodes
Chiral metal–halide perovskites offer a route to circularly polarized light without external polarizers. This Perspective compares two spin‐light emitting diode concepts: intrinsically chiral emissive layers and chiral spin‐filter interlayers that inject spin‐polarized carriers into efficient achiral emitters.

Hyperbolic Discounting Is Rational: Valuing the Far Future with Uncertain Discount Rates [PDF]
Conventional economics supposes that agents value the present vs. the future using an exponential discounting function. In contrast, experiments with animals and humans suggest that agents are better described as hyperbolic discounters, whose discount ...

We are reporting the first‐time investigation of DPP‐based Organic Field‐Effect Transistor (OFET) devices with high‐stability of signal response in both of ambient and aqueous conditions with PBS solution. ABSTRACT Diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP)–based conjugated polymers show strong promise for electronic applications, including bioelectronic gas sensors ...

Simulation-based Estimation of Contingent-claims Prices [PDF]
A new methodology is proposed to estimate theoretical prices of financial contingent-claims whose values are dependent on some other underlying financial assets. In the literature the preferred choice of estimator is usually maximum likelihood (ML).
