Pharmacological Inhibition of Cav2.2 Channels by Recombinant Phα1β Toxin (CTK01512‐2)

open access: yesBasic &Clinical Pharmacology &Toxicology, Volume 139, Issue 2, August 2026.
The recombinant Phα1β toxin (CTK01512‐2) partially and reversibly inhibits Cav2.2 calcium channels in HEK‐293 cells. CTK01512‐2 displays dose‐dependent inhibition of N‐type calcium currents, with an IC50 of 3.94 nM. In vivo, CTK01512‐2 effectively reduces mechanical allodynia in a neuropathic pain model, confirming its antinociceptive activity ...

Weight Gains Across Adulthood—The ELSA‐Brasil Study

open access: yesClinical Obesity, Volume 16, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Our objective was to describe weight, fat mass, skeletal mass and waist gains across the adult lifespan. We analysed data from 11 611 participants in the Brazilian Longitudinal Study of Adult Health, aged 35–74 years at baseline and followed from 2008 to 2024. Anthropometric measurements were performed at all visits, and bioimpedance at follow‐

Biomechanical Analysis of 3D Printed and Thermoformed EVA Custom‐Made Mouthguard: Experimental and Finite Element Analyses

open access: yesDental Traumatology, Volume 42, Issue 4, Page 511-522, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background/Objective 3D printed materials have been evaluated for fabricating mouthguards; however, little is known about their biomechanical performance in preventing dental trauma. This study aimed to compare two 3D printed polymers and three ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) sheets used for mouthguard fabrication regarding their mechanical ...
