The changes in the plantar stratum corneum (SC) and the living epidermis (ED) at the big toe (T1), first metatarsal head (M1), and second metatarsal head (M2) were investigated after a controlled walking experiment on a treadmill at 3.6 mph using 80, 160, and 240 mmHg insole hardness for 10 and 20 min.
