ABSTRACT In this paper a new algorithm for segmentation of the foveal avascular zone in optical coherence tomography angiography images of the superficial capillary plexus is presented and evaluated. The algorithm is based on convolutional techniques, and for evaluation it has been compared with a collection of manual segmentations.

Extraction and Comprehensive Characterization of Starch From Ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum L.) Seeds as a Non‐Conventional Source

A native starch was extracted from ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum L.), yielding a high‐purity product with a significant starch content. The starch exhibited type A and V crystallinity, with a mean particle size (D50) ~7 nm, high swelling power, and low retrogradation tendency.
