Inoculation with different avirulent Zymoseptoria tritici isolates induces stomatal closure in wheat lines carrying either the Stb9 or Stb16q resistance genes. The proportion of closed stomata was positively associated with inoculum concentration, consistent with increased Z. tritici penetration attempts through stomata.

Abstract Biocidal products are widely used across food production chains to control microbiological hazards. Residues of substances in these products can end up in food, to which consumers are subsequently exposed. Whether these residues pose a risk to consumers is currently largely unknown.
