Direct‐Write Printed Contacts to Layered and 2D Materials
It is demonstrated that direct‐write printing is a viable method to fabricate devices on different 2D and layered materials yields Ohmic contacts in a single step, as compared to multi‐step lithography processes which often yield poor contacts. Printed devices perform exceedingly well with gating, temperature cycling, and in magnetic fields.

Characterization and Reporting Protocols for Structural Power Composites: A Perspective
Here, the issues for testing and reporting on structural power composites are described: multifunctional materials that can carry loads while providing electrical energy. As well as proposing best practice, the development of a “universal coupon” is recommended for studying these materials and any interactions that occur between the two functions ...

The inhomogeneous electrolyte wetting in lean‐electrolyte lithium–sulfur pouch cells is visualized by operando neutron tomography non‐destructively. Real‐time observation of electrolyte in different layers of pouch cells reveals different electrolyte wetting behaviors under various cell status, including cell rest, states of discharge, and charge at ...

Bias‐Dependent Quantum Efficiency Reveals Recombination Pathways in Thin Film Solar Cells
Bias‐dependent external quantum‐efficiency spectra provide three characteristic “fingerprints” that reveal whether charge‐carrier loss in high‐efficiency graded CdSeTe solar cells is dominated by the front interface, the bulk absorber, or the back contact.

Origins of Abrupt Capacity Degradation in Lithium‐Ion Batteries with Silicon‐Based Anodes
A sudden capacity decay in graphite/SiO anodes during long‐term cycling occurs alongside the formation of a “SiO‐SEI crust” near the SiO surface. The self‐accelerating degradation mechanism is revealed: slow lithium diffusion within the SiO particles creates large diffusion‐induced stress from steeper lithium‐ion gradients, resulting in surface ...
