High‐Temperature Single‐Photon Emission From Covalently Functionalized van der Waals Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 48, December 29, 2025.
Covalent diazonium functionalization of graphite‐WSe2 heterostructures produces high‐purity single‐photon emission from WSe2 at T = 90 K, far above the typical T = 10 K limit. The chemical modification reshapes graphite's electronic structure and couples to WSe2 midgap states, stabilizing quantum emitters at elevated temperatures and opening pathways ...

Data‐Driven Ranking and Selection With Simultaneous Input Data Collection and Simulation

open access: yesNaval Research Logistics (NRL), Volume 72, Issue 8, Page 1170-1183, December 2025.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we propose a general and novel formulation of ranking and selection with the existence of streaming input data. The collection of multiple streams of such data may consume different types of resources, and hence can be conducted simultaneously.

High‐Contrast Colorless‐to‐Colored Thermochromic Materials

open access: yesSmall, Volume 21, Issue 51, December 23, 2025.
We developed new three‐component thermochromic systems showing reversible colorless‐to‐colored transition. Our general empirical rule applies to diverse fatty acid phase change materials and leuco dyes, enabling easily tunable transition temperature and activated colors (blue, cyan, green, pink, grey). Solid particles of these materials were integrated

Cytokine, Chemokine, and Neurofilament Light Chain Signatures in LGI1 Autoimmune Encephalitis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 12, Issue 11, Page 2258-2270, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Objectives To investigate the value of cytokine, chemokine, and neurofilament light chain (NfL) concentrations in predicting relapse risk, chronic epilepsy, and functional impairment in LGI1 autoimmune encephalitis (AE). Methods Cytokines/chemokines (IL‐1‐beta, IL‐2, IL‐4, IL‐5, IL‐6, IL‐8/CXCL8, IL‐10, IL‐12p70, IL‐13, IL‐17A, GM‐CSF, TNF ...

Unfolding the Network Structure of [Pyr14Cl/(BCl3)0.25]/(δ‐MgCl2)x Ionic Liquid Using the BCl4− Probe

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 6, Issue 11, November 2025.
The network structure of ionic liquid‐based electrolytes doped with δ‐MgCl2 is unveiled using the BCl4− molecular probe. A comprehensive approach, including DFT, Fourier transform infrared, broadband electrical spectroscopy, and nuclear magnetic resonance studies, reveals the interplay between anionic and cationic domains, demonstrating enhanced ...

Near‐Surface Arresting of Wind‐Driven Cooling in the Gulf of Mexico Facilitates the Rapid Intensification of Major Hurricane Michael (2018)

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 130, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Hurricanes require large moisture flux from warm waters to intensify—hurricane intensity affects and is affected by water cooling underneath. Historically, Gulf of Mexico hurricanes preferentially experienced rapid intensification (RI) and major development over localized deep warm waters; recently, unusually warming surface waters facilitated

Large wood recruitment in the Tegnas torrent (Italy): The impact of the Vaia storm and the role of the riparian forest structure

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 50, Issue 13, October 2025.
This study examines large wood (LW) recruitment in the Tegnas Torrent (Italy) after the Vaia Storm. It quantifies floodplain‐recruited LW and analyses reach‐scale correlations with sediment balance and connectivity. Results revealed that wider lateral erosion does not always lead to higher recruitment, as riparian forest characteristics play a key role.

Kalymmatonema gen. nov. (Scytonemataceae, Cyanobacteria): A desert soil crust genus previously identified as Scytonema hyalinum, with description of seven species new to science

open access: yesJournal of Phycology, Volume 61, Issue 5, Page 1225-1250, October 2025.
Abstract Numerous cyanobacterial strains previously identified as Scytonema hyalinum were determined to be phylogenetically distant from the type species of Scytonema, S. hofmannii. Morphological and molecular evidence suggests this distinct clade necessitates placement in a new genus, and we have described Kalymmatonema gen. nov. herein. Kalymmatonema
