Image Perspective Transformationsâ€â€?Urban Scenes [PDF]

open access: possibleOptical Engineering, 1981
This paper discusses a technique for converting digitized oblique low-altitude aerial photography to gray level imagery as seen from other viewing perspectives. The technique makes use of one- and two-camera perspective transformations. Inputs to these transformations are camera model information and a stick figure representation of the scene.

Atmospheric Optical Propagationâ€â€?An Integrated Approach

Optical Engineering, 1982
The task of characterizing optical wave propagation through the earth's atmosphere under low-visibility weather conditions is extremely difficult; it requires, in essence, solution of the general multiple-scattering problem. This paper describes results from an integrated approach to propagation through the turbid atmosphere in which experiments are ...

CCD/Transit Instrument Deep Photometric And Polarimetric Surveyâ€â€?A Progress Report

Optical Engineering, 1984
We have previously reported on the conceptual design and predicted performance of a new type of dedicated astronomical telescope to be used for a deep photometric survey for galactic and extragalactic variability and polarization.' Data derived from this survey will be useful for a wide variety of astronomical investigations including the definition of

Strain Determination On Curved Surfaces Using Far•Field Objective Laser Speckles

Optical Engineering, 1982
Most of the laser speckle methods utilize subjective speckles in that speckles are recorded through a lens whose aperture determines the admitted spatial frequencies. Objective speckles are those intrinsically formed by the scattering wavelets. In this paper we propose the use of far-field objective speckles generated from a ground glass to measure ...

An Efficient k-Means Clustering Algorithm: Analysis and Implementation

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2002
In k-means clustering, we are given a set of n data points in d-dimensional space R/sup d/ and an integer k and the problem is to determine a set of k points in Rd, called centers, so as to minimize the mean squared distance from each data point to its ...

Tailoring the d-Band Centers Enables Co4 N Nanosheets To Be Highly Active for Hydrogen Evolution Catalysis.

Angewandte Chemie, 2018
Endowing materials with specific functions that are not readily available is always of great importance, but extremely challenging. Co4 N, with its beneficial metallic characteristics, has been proved to be highly active for the oxidation of water, while

Design Of Null Lens Correctors For The Testing Of Astronomical Nnfit‘C

Optical Engineering, 1988
Some design examples are presented that illustrate the design of null correctors for the testing of strong aspherical surfaces such as those that are of interest in astronomical instrumentation. The design and analysis of an Offner corrector for an f/1 paraboloid is given.
