Measurement of D0, D+, D*+ and D s + production in Pb-Pb collisions at s N N = 5.02 $$ \sqrt{{\mathrm{s}}_{\mathrm{NN}}}=5.02 $$ TeV

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We report measurements of the production of prompt D0, D+, D*+ and D s + mesons in Pb–Pb collisions at the centre-of-mass energy per nucleon-nucleon pair s N N = 5.02 $$ \sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=5.02 $$ TeV, in the centrality classes 0–10%, 30–50% and 60 ...

Tree-level UV completions for N R SMEFT d = 6 and d = 7 operators

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We study ultra-violet completions for operators in standard model effective field theory extended with right-handed neutrinos (N R SMEFT). Using a diagrammatic method, we generate systematically lists of possible tree-level completions involving scalars,

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Названия налима (Lota Lota) в марийских диалектах [Names for Burbot (Lota Lota) in Mari Dialects]; pp. 279-284 [PDF]

open access: yesLinguistica Uralica, 2019
The article is about the analysis of the designations of burbot (Lota Lota) in Mari dialects. Tha analysis has allowed to determine six naming units of which one is of Finno-Ugric origin (шамба), two are of Mari orgin (мокшынчо, шiмгол)

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Переход имен собственных в нарицательные в коми языке [Transition of Proper Names into Common Nouns in the Komi Language]; pp. 118-128 [PDF]

open access: yesLinguistica Uralica, 2018
The article is devoted to a previously unexplored topic, namely the identification of such Komi common nouns that are based on proper names. It is concluded that the base of such words has been provided either by ethnonyms or personal names, while most of

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...
