Thermal Modulation of Electrodeposition Stability in Sodium Metal Electrodes
Unstable electrodeposition in sodium metal electrodes during plating gives rise to dendritic morphologies. A comprehensive analysis of how various thermal profiles, including uniform and non‐uniform temperature distributions and thermodiffusion can affect electrodeposition instability has been performed.

MBE‐Grown ScAlN‐on‐Si Films: Enhancing In‐Plane Crystallinity for Extensional Mode BAW Resonators
The achievement of in‐plane single crystallinity and a high piezoelectric modulus in epitaxially grown ScAlN films on AlN‐buffered Si (111) enables extensional mode ScAlN‐on‐Si bulk acoustic wave (BAW) resonators with an ultra‐high Q of ≈97k at 70.28 MHz, resulting in a frequency‐Q product of ≈6.86 × 1012, suitable for emerging wireless technologies ...

Characterization and Reporting Protocols for Structural Power Composites: A Perspective
Here, the issues for testing and reporting on structural power composites are described: multifunctional materials that can carry loads while providing electrical energy. As well as proposing best practice, the development of a “universal coupon” is recommended for studying these materials and any interactions that occur between the two functions ...

Origins of Abrupt Capacity Degradation in Lithium‐Ion Batteries with Silicon‐Based Anodes
A sudden capacity decay in graphite/SiO anodes during long‐term cycling occurs alongside the formation of a “SiO‐SEI crust” near the SiO surface. The self‐accelerating degradation mechanism is revealed: slow lithium diffusion within the SiO particles creates large diffusion‐induced stress from steeper lithium‐ion gradients, resulting in surface ...
