Abstract There has been growing evidence that perturbations in gut‐microbiota‐brain axis (GMBA) are involved in mechanisms of chronic sequelae of traumatic brain injury (TBI). This review discusses the connection between GMBA and post‐traumatic epilepsy (PTE), the latter being a common outcome of TBI.

Neuropsychological correlations with fornix and hippocampus in temporal lobe epilepsy demonstrated with diffusion tensor imaging

Abstract Objective Memory dysfunction is a common disabling comorbidity in temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) and hippocampal sclerosis (HS). While bilateral fornix diffusion abnormalities have been reported in TLE using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), the impact of fornix pathology on cognitive outcomes remains unclear.

Seasonal drivers of plant–soil–microbial community structure and functions in Western Himalayan grasslands, Pakistan

Grassland Research, EarlyView.
Plant species richness was greater in summer in both alpine and subalpine grassland ecosystems. Soil moisture demonstrates significant positive correlations with soil organic carbon and total nitrogen across seasonal periods. Microbial α‐diversity peaks during summer but maintains functional stability across seasons.

Further Findings on the Intergenerational Transmission of Alcohol Consumption

ABSTRACT Using 43,817 parent–child pairs from 23 waves of the HILDA Survey, I study the intergenerational transmission of alcohol use within a rational model of trait transmission. Transmission is predominantly same‐sex: the mother–daughter elasticity is 0.10 and the father–son elasticity is 0.09; there is no father–daughter effect.

We found the estimated use of tiger bone glue within the last 12 months to be 6.9%. We found a stated motivation of taking TBG to improve health, and by the suggestion of one's social group. We suggest reducing the acceptability of TBG as medicine and encouraging non‐animal‐based medicinal alternatives.

Holocene sea‐level and environmental changes on the Isle of Mull, Scotland

ABSTRACT Sea‐level and coastal changes are reconstructed on the Isle of Mull, western Scotland, from 10 988 to 10 507 cal BP to the present. This research has produced the first SLIP for the Isle of Mull. A multiproxy approach including pollen, spore, foraminifera and diatom analyses reveals palaeoenvironmental changes from two coastal sites.
