4,6‐O‐Phenylboronic Ester Protection for 1,2‐cis‐α‐Selective Glucosylation

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
The 4,6‐O‐phenylboronic ester protection for 1,2‐cis‐α‐selective glucosylation, previously reported by the Crich group, was revisited and the stereodirecting effect of the cyclic protecting group was unveiled. 4,6‐O‐Phenylboronic ester‐protected glucosyl and 2‐azido‐2‐deoxyglucosyl donors exhibited higher α‐selectivity of the glucosylation than the ...

Photo‐ and Electroluminescence of N,N‐Diphenylaminophenyl–Quinoxaline Donor–Acceptor‐Type Dyes: Electronic Impacts of Electron‐Withdrawing Ability of the Acceptor Unit

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Compact N,N‐diphenylaminophenyl–quinoxaline donor–acceptor‐type dyes were synthesized, and the effects of substituents on the fluorescence properties were investigated. Introduction of electron‐withdrawing groups to the quinoxaline acceptor caused a red shift of the emission, and furthermore, thermally activated delayed fluorescence was facilitated by ...

Tuning Antiaromaticity Through Meso‐Substituent Orientation in Core‐Modified Isophlorins

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
The antiaromaticity of dithiadioxaisophlorins is controlled by the steric bulkiness of meso‐substituents through their tilt angle relative to the macrocycle. Bulkier substituents maintain larger angles, preserving stronger antiaromaticity, while smaller groups facilitate π‐conjugation with the macrocycle, diminishing antiaromaticity.

HCN2‐Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorders: Data from Patients and Xenopus Cell Models

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective We aimed to characterize the phenotypic spectrum and functional consequences associated with variants in HCN2, encoding for the hyperpolarization‐activated cyclic nucleotide (HCN) gated channel 2. Methods GeneMatcher facilitated the recruitment of 21 individuals with HCN2 variants from 15 unrelated families, carrying HCN2 variants.

Kinetically Enhanced Access to a Dynamic Polyester Platform via Sequence Selective Terpolymerisation of Elemental Sulphur

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A rare sequence‐selective terpolymerisation of elemental sulphur, aromatic thioanhydrides, and epoxides yields dynamic poly(ester‐alt‐Sx) polymers. Mechanistic insights reveal a lithium‐catalysed rate enhancement via ester coordination. The resulting polymers are thermally stable, backbone‐editable, and processable into degradable adhesives.

Impeding Thermal Atomization Enables Synthesizing Fe2N Cluster Liganded Single Fe‐Atom Catalyst for Highly Efficient Oxygen Reduction Reaction

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Fe2N cluster liganded single‐atom Fe‐N‐C catalyst was made via impending the conventional thermal atomization process. The in situ generated Fe2N clusters can optimate the electronic structures of Fe‐N4 sites, thereby rendering Fe2Nnc/Fe1‐N‐C catalyst a record‐high oxygen reduction activity of 0.957 V versus RHE in alkali condition.

Modulation of Lanthanide Luminescence with the Mechanical Bond: Antenna‐Emitter Confinement in a Compact [2]Rotaxane

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Luminescent lanthanide emitters typically need sensitization from an attached chromophore – an “antenna” – to have useful emission intensities. Here we show that the mechanical bond can be used to connect the antenna to the emitter, providing unique stimuli‐responsiveness to the resulting assemblies.

Biosynthese des Rotalgen‐Diterpens Peyssonnosol in Bakterien

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.

A Polyaromatic Metallotube With a Dual Multi‐Functionalization Ability

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A new polyaromatic metallotube, formed from PtCl2 and bispyridine ligands, undergoes dual multi‐functionalization via substitution on the metal hinges. The first multi‐functionalized Pt(II)‐tube exhibits high water solubility as well as binds one molecule of fullerene C60, which is subsequently released through the second multi‐functionalization, in a ...
