Thermal and Dimensional Stability of Photocatalytic Material ZnPS3 Under Extreme Environmental Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This work shows that ZnPS3 exhibits remarkable stability under extreme conditions. It undergoes a reversible pressure‐induced phase transition with the onset at 12.5 GPa, followed by a semiconductor‐to‐semimetal transition at 100 GPa. PL, Raman, and X‐ray spectroscopies as well as first‐principles modeling reveal defect‐assisted emission, a large ...

A Strategic Approach for Enhanced p‐Type Doping of WSe2 p‐MOSFETs Using an Atomic Oxidation Process

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A robust approach to p‐type doping in monolayer WSe2 is demonstrated using phase‐engineered WSeyOx / WSe2 / WSeyOx heterostructures formed via atomic oxidation. Self‐limited surface oxidation enables non‐destructive charge transfer doping while preserving intrinsic channel properties.

Mitigating Battery Cell Failure: Role of Ag‐Nanoparticle Fillers in Solid Electrolyte Dendrite Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The incorporation of silver nanoparticles into sulfide‐based solid electrolytes is shown to suppress lithium dendrite growth and stress‐induced failure. Combining advanced 3D tomography, electrochemical testing, and modeling, this study reveals how Ag nanoparticles redirect Li currents, homogenize filament growth, and prevent short‐circuiting in the ...

Machine‐Learning‐Based, Feature‐Rich Prediction of Alumina Microstructure from Hardness

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Herein, high‐performance generative adversarial network (GAN), named ‘Microstructure‐GAN’, is demonstrated. After training, the high‐fidelity, feature‐rich micrographs can be predicted for an arbitrary target hardness. Microstructure details such as small pores and grain boundaries can be observed at the nanometer scale in the predicted 1000 ...
