Electromagnetically Adhering and Self‐Inductive Sensing Claw for Continuum Climbing Robots: Design, Control, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
To argue the applicability of continuum wall‐climbing robots in the nuclear industry, an electromagnetic adhering and self‐inductive sensing integrated claw is developed. The flexible claw realizes an integrated design of the physical structure and excitation circuit. An automatic contact strategy based on fuzzy controller is established, which enables

Cloud‐Based Control System with Sensing and Actuating Textile‐Based IoT Gloves for Telerehabilitation Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Using cloud computing technology, a telerehabilitation application allows patients to perform exercises remotely. Sensor data from a textile‐based IoT glove is processed in the cloud and transmitted as exercise commands to an actuating T‐IoT glove worn by patients.

Costello Syndrome and Ophthalmologic Issues: Unveiling the Unseen

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Costello syndrome (CS) is an ultra‐rare condition belonging to the RASopathies, a group of disorders characterized by aberrant RAS/MAPK pathway signaling, which is involved in ocular development and in some eye pathologies. However, only a few studies assessing the ophthalmic features of individuals with CS are available.

Synthesis, Optical and Singlet Oxygen Generation Properties of Phenazinone‐Based Photosensitizer with 5‐Formyl‐2‐Thienyl Substituents

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Phenazinone chromophore incorporating a carbonyl group into the skeleton is recently found to be a new‐type halogen‐atom‐free‐photosensitizer possessing superior ability in singlet oxygen (1O2) generation. In this work, we have designed and developed the derivative with two 5‐formyl‐2‐thienyl substituents which is expected to lead to improvement of the

Gromomycins: An Unprecedented Class of Triterpene Antibiotics Produced by a Novel Biosynthetic Pathway

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Gromomycins represent a novel class of pentacyclic triterpene antibiotics with a unique biosynthetic pathway independent of the squalene route. These compounds exhibit potent activity against drug‐resistant Gram‐positive pathogens, including MRSA, and their unprecedented cyclization mechanism provides new insight into bacterial triterpene biosynthesis.

A Novel Merocyanine Derivative for Probing Polarity at Cubosome Interfaces

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
This study develops a synthetic route to C10SP, a polarity‐sensitive sensor embedded in phytantriol‐based cubosomes. Strategic steps included tertiary amine‐mediated amidation to covalently attach a hydrophobic tail and controlled nitrogen methylation to form the iminium moiety within the indolenine scaffold.

Development of an Automated Workflow for Screening the Assembly and Host–Guest Behavior of Metal‐Organic Cages Towards Accelerated Discovery

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
An automated experimental workflow to accelerate the discovery of metal‐organic cages (MOCs), which is often hindered by slow, manual approaches, has been developed. Automation of the synthesis, characterization, and analysis, is supported by computational modelling to rationalize the experimental outcomes, and development of a host–guest assay ...

Synthesis of Benzodithieno[5.5.5.6]fenestranes: Unexpected Epimerization and Regiochemical Outcomes

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, Accepted Article.
Isomeric [5.5.5.6]fenestranes bearing one benzene and two thiophene rings annulated to all‐cis‐ and cis, cis, trans, cis‐fenestrane cores are presented. The synthesis route previously established for the corresponding tribenzo[5.5.5.6]fenestranes includes twofold cyclodehydration of the stereoisomeric spiro[cyclohexane‐1,2’‐indane]‐1',3'‐diol ...

Optical Probes for Cellular Imaging of G‐quadruplexes: Beyond Fluorescence Intensity Probes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
DNA and RNA can fold into tetra‐stranded helical structures known as G‐quadruplexes (G4s). There is mounting evidence suggesting that these structures have important biological roles. In this minireview we discuss advances in the design of optical probes for the detection of G4s that offer intensity‐independent readouts that address limitations of ...
