Flexible 3D Printed Acrylic Composites based on Polyaniline/Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes for Piezoresistive Pressure Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 8, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Novel Digital Light Processing‐3D printable conductive composites filled with polyaniline/multiwalled carbon nanotubes (PANI/MWCNT) are developed with clear advantages respect to single conducting fillers. Flexible acrylic composites with improved thermal and electrical properties are successfully printed. Above the electrical threshold, the composites

Intervals of color mismatch in chromaticity coordinates and in cone‐fundamental‐based (LMS) space

open access: yesColor Research &Application, Volume 47, Issue 6, Page 1295-1312, December 2022., 2022
Increment cone contrast versus decrement cone contrast in the case of α = 0.05 for channel H3 (S). Abstract We discuss the uncertainties in chromaticity coordinates in the color matching experiment reported by MacAdam (Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1942). We also derive the uncertainties in cone‐pigments based excitation space.

Myopia control with dual‐focus soft contact lenses during the first year of measures to contain the COVID‐19 pandemic

open access: yesOphthalmic and Physiological Optics, Volume 42, Issue 6, Page 1227-1231, November 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose This study compared refractive and axial length (AL) changes in children wearing dual‐focus soft contact lenses for myopia control (MiSight®) with myopic children wearing spectacles one year from the start of lockdown during the COVID‐19 pandemic. Methods This retrospective, descriptive, parallel‐group, observational study reviewed the

Thermoresponsive Polymeric Nanolenses Magnify the Thermal Sensitivity of Single Upconverting Nanoparticles

open access: yesSmall, Volume 18, Issue 34, August 25, 2022., 2022
Upon surface graft of temperature‐responsive poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) on NaYF4:Er3+, Yb3+ upconverting nanoparticle, a 16‐fold enhancement in optical forces is observed, which is accompanied by a significant enhancement of the thermal sensitivity at 32 °C induced by the collapse of PNIPAM.

Synergism between obesity and HFpEF on neutrophils phenotype and its regulation by adipose tissue‐molecules and SGLT2i dapagliflozin

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 26, Issue 16, Page 4416-4427, August 2022., 2022
Abstract The adiposity invokes innate immune activity, coronary microvascular dysfunction and consequently heart failure preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Our aim was to study the neutrophils profile on obesity and cardiovascular disease and its regulation by adipose tissue‐secretome and dapagliflozin.

In‐depth proteomics characterization of ∆Np73 effectors identifies key proteins with diagnostic potential implicated in lymphangiogenesis, vasculogenesis and metastasis in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 16, Issue 14, Page 2672-2692, July 2022., 2022
High‐density antibody microarrays and stable isotopic metabolic labeling allowed the identification of secreted dysregulated effectors by the ectopic ∆Np73 expression in HCT116 colorectal cancer (CRC) cells. After validating the dysregulation of the effectors by orthogonal techniques, an important association with lymphangiogenesis, vasculogenesis and ...

Reaching Deeper: Absolute In Vivo Thermal Reading of Liver by Combining Superbright Ag2S Nanothermometers and In Silico Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 8, Issue 9, May 5, 2021., 2021
A new procedure for thermal readout is obtained from the combination of in vivo transient thermometry and in silico simulations. Quantities such as the efficiency of hyperthermia processes and the heat deposited in the liver are determined by a careful analysis.

Measuring Facial Illuminance with Smartphones and Mobile Devices

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Introduction: To uncover a relationship between light exposure and myopia is complicated because of the challenging nature of measuring visually relevant illumination experienced by children.
