Zusammenfassung Neben der Vermeidung postoperativer Wundinfektionen nach dermatochirurgischen Eingriffen hat die perioperative Antibiotikaprophylaxe (PAP) das Ziel, das Auftreten weiterer postoperativer Infektionskomplikationen, insbesondere der bakteriellen Endokarditis oder hämatogener Gelenkprotheseninfektionen, zu verhindern.

Background. Neonatal oral aphthous ulceration of the palate also known as Bednar’s aphthae is not an uncommon presentation. They clinically present as spontaneously regressing, shallow, and symmetrical ulcers on the posterior palate of newborns from 2 days up to 6 weeks of age. Case Presentation.

Long‐term outcome after hand and forearm transplantation – a retrospective study

Summary Between 2000 and 2014, five patients received bilateral hand (n = 3), bilateral forearm (n = 1), and unilateral hand (n = 1) transplants at the Innsbruck Medical University Hospital. We provide a comprehensive report of the long‐term results at 20 years. During the 6–20 years follow‐up, 43 rejection episodes were recorded in total. Of these, 27.

Incomplete systemic lupus (iSLE) is an acknowledged condition of patients with clinical signs of lupus who do not fulfill classification criteria for SLE. Some patients with iSLE have persistent mild disease, but others have serious organ involvement, and up to 55% progress to established SLE.

Laparoscopic proximal gastrectomy with double‐flap technique is different from laparoscopic subtotal gastrectomy in terms of preventing problems involving the small intestine and anaemia after surgery for proximal early gastric cancer. However, these procedures are comparable for other outcomes, even though they are opposing procedures.
