From Solution to Surface: How the Catalytic Environment Modulates Peptide Bond Cleavage by Metal‐Oxo Cluster Nanozymes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Comparison of homogeneous Hf12(sol) and heterogeneous Hf12(precip) metal‐oxo clusters enables investigation of how solubility influences nanozymatic reactivity and selectivity toward proteolysis, without introducing confounding factors from differences in cluster identity.

Dilute but Dense – Reversible Crosslinking Enables Water‐Rich (Bio)polymer Condensates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Reversible crosslinking between two types of (bio)polymers drives liquid–liquid phase separation even in good solvent. The arrangement of binding motifs controls condensate formation and density, and internal network structure. Simulations and theory reveal a closed‐loop coexistence phase diagram at very low monomer concentrations and re‐entrant ...

Structural Basis of the Membrane Association by the Conserved RocS Membrane‐Targeting Sequence in Streptococcus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chromosome segregation in Streptococcus pneumoniae depends on RocS, a bitopic protein whose membrane‐anchoring mechanisms were unclear. Using NMR and AFM, this study reveals that the widely conserved RocS anchor binds to membranes via a conserved kink‐helix motif which inserts into lipid nanodomains.
