Trafficking of the human Na+/H+ antiporter NHA2 to the plasma membrane requires cornichon COPII cargo receptors

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract A key prerequisite of transporter proteins' function is their trafficking to the target cellular membranes where they fulfill distinct physiological roles. Cornichon proteins (CNIH/Erv14) represent a highly conserved family of coat protein complex II (COPII)‐coated vesicle cargo receptors that facilitate the exit of numerous transporters from ...

Purchase and production optimization in a meat processing plant

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, Volume 33, Issue 2, Page 1016-1051, March 2026.
Abstract This paper addresses an optimization problem concerning the purchase and subsequent material processing in a meat processing company. Unlike the majority of existing papers, we do not concentrate on how this problem concerns supply chain management, but we focus on the production stage, primarily the meat cutting.

Transition to online psychological support – Barriers, stereotypes and challenges from the perspective of service providers

open access: yesPsychology and Psychotherapy: Theory, Research and Practice, Volume 99, Issue 1, Page 113-128, March 2026.
Abstract Objectives This qualitative study, which provides practical insights for the field, described the transition process of psychological service providers towards online care provision. We aimed to describe the process of professionals' adaptation to new methods of distant psychological care, including its main facilitating and complicating ...

Quantum‐Grade Nanodiamonds from a Single‐Step, Industrial‐Scale Pressure and Temperature Process

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 12, 9 February 2026.
Novel method for creation of nitrogen‐vacancy centers in 50‐nm nanodiamonds based on high‐temperature plastic deformation is demonstrated. Compared to the electron irradiation approach, it yields nitrogen‐vacancy centers with significantly improved charge stability, T1 relaxation time, and optical Rabi contrast.

Guanidinium Like‐Charge Ion Pairing and Oligoarginine Aggregation in Water by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Cryo‐Electron Microscopy, and Molecular Dynamics

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study shows that guanidinium cations weakly attract one another in water and form like‐charge contact ion pairs. From NMR, we determine the free energy of ion‐pair formation to be ≈${\approx }$ –0.5 kJ mol−1${\rm mol}^{-1}$, consistent with all‐atom MD simulations and DFT calculations.

Enantioselective Lanthanide Binding Modulates Collagen Self‐Assembly

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
The self‐assembly of collagen underpins the architecture and mechanical properties of connective and other tissues, yet its molecular mechanism remains poorly understood. We demonstrate that a lanthanide complex can serve as an optical reporter of collagen fibrillogenesis.
