Volume of Treatment of Temporomandibular Disorders in Adults—A Nationwide Register‐Based Observation of Private Oral Healthcare in Finland in 2006–2024

This study established a long‐term picture of TMD treatment in private oral healthcare; the data covered approximately 56 500 TMD patients per year from 2006 to 2024. TMD patients constituted 4.1%–6.7% of all patients; 13.9% of TMD patients received splint therapy, most commonly among younger adults.

The aim of this SR was to investigate the risk of metabolic syndrome (MetS) and its single components in individuals with or without periodontitis/edentulism.
