The Efficacy of Spirulina on Cognitive Function, Psychological and Clinical Indicators in Men Patients Under Methadone Therapy (a Randomized Trial)

In male patients receiving methadone maintenance therapy (MMT), Spirulina tablet (500 mg twice daily) for 12 weeks significantly reduced anxiety and stress score compared to the placebo group. Cactus par pulp due to presence of bioactive compounds and fibers have huge potential to be incorporated in the stirred yogurt. Up to 10% incorporation of cactus pear pulp in buffalo milk stirred yogurt resulted significant increase in total phenolic content, antioxidant potential, and lactic acid bacteria count of the yogurt.
