3D‐Printed Geopolymer as a Basic Heterogeneous Catalyst for the Synthesis of α‐Cyanoacrylates Through the Knoevenagel Condensation

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 16, 25 April 2026.
3D‐printed geopolymers are presented as efficient and reusable heterogeneous catalysts for the Knoevenagel condensation. Under mild and green conditions, they promote the high‐yield synthesis of diverse α‐cyanoacrylates with remarkable stability and scalability.

Stereoselective Chemoenzymatic Synthesis Metaraminol Involving Gold‐Catalysed Alkyne Hydration and Carbonyl Biotransamination

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 16, 25 April 2026.
A chemoenzymatic synthesis of (1R,2S)‐metaraminol was developed by combining gold(I)‐catalysed alkyne hydration and stereoselective biotransamination in a sequential one‐pot process. Various phenol protection strategies were considered in oxidation‐reduction sequences, providing access to enantiopure propargylic alcohols as starting materials for ...

Aldol Reactions of Germyl Dienolates With Precise Control Over Regioselectivity and Perfect Diastereoselectivity

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 8, 15 April 2026.
Achieving selective aldol reactions using dienolates as nucleophiles is challenging due to the potential formation of up to eight different regioisomeric and stereoisomeric aldol adducts. This study demonstrates that Ge dienolates can facilitate highly diastereoselective aldol reactions. Furthermore, the key role of the solvents is also clarified.

Ozone production in four major cities of China: sensitivity to ozone precursors and heterogeneous processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
. Despite a large volume of research over a number of years, our understandings of the key precursors that control tropospheric ozone production and the impacts of heterogeneous processes remain incomplete. In this study, we analyze measurements of ozone

Additives Promote Divergent Reactivity in Photolytic Deoxygenation and Lactonization Reactions of Cobalt Alkoxycarbonyls

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 14, 15 April 2026.
We report a carbonylation‐homolysis process to access acyl radicals that can undergo decarboxylation or cyclization onto tethered alkenes. In both cases, ligands and additives are shown to influence the outcome to give saturated or unsaturated products, in some cases with isomerization of the initial products.

Synthesis of Sulfur Heterocycles by Palladium‐Catalyzed Cyclization

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 14, 15 April 2026.
In spite of the well‐known palladium thiophilicity, sulfur‐containing acyclic substrates may efficiently undergo several different kinds of palladium‐catalyzed cyclization processes leading to highly important sulfur heterocycles in one synthetic step. Advances in this challenging and stimulating field of research are presented in this review.

Catalytic Hydrogenation of Lignin‐Derived Aromatics With Rhodium Oxide in Water

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 14, 15 April 2026.
The easily available, easy‐to‐handle rhodium(III) oxide, Rh2O3, is shown to be a competent catalyst for arene hydrogenation, including chemoselective reduction of α,β‐unsaturated aryl ketones. Catalytic arene hydrogenation offers a direct pathway to saturated carbocycles. It can also be exploited to upgrade lignin‐derived aromatics.
