Food assessment for pesticide's contamination in Chugchilán parish crops in Cotopaxi (Ecuador)
Abstract The objective of this study is to evaluate the contamination by pesticides in food grown in the parish of Chugchilán. From 258 families that were part of the main project, a sub‐sample of 26 families was obtained and, for each of them, a sample of food was extracted and evaluated by chromatographic methods.

Asymmetric Catalytic Transformations of Aza‐ortho‐ and Aza‐para‐Quinone Methides
Aza‐quinone methides (aza‐QMs) are transient intermediates, which are able to react easily with a variety of nucleophiles providing a variety of N‐heterocycles. The catalytic methodologies for the derivatization of aza‐QM into chiral derivatives have been recently reported and involve organocatalytic or organometallic approaches.

Four diphenyl pyrene-derived aminophosphonates were synthesized. Attempts were made to synthesize diphenyl N-(R)-α-methylbenzylamino(pyren-1-yl)methylphosphonate (3e) in order to obtain the chiral aminophosphonate bearing a pyrene moiety.

(3+2)‐Cyclization Reactions of Unsaturated Phosphonites with Aldehydes and Thioketones
Unsaturated phosphonites are excellent substrates in new (3+2)‐cyclization reactions with aldehydes or thioketones. The cyclisation reactions proceed smoothly at room temperature and lead to the fast formation of the previously inaccessible phosphorus heterocycles 1,3‐oxa‐ and 1,3‐thiaphosphole‐3‐oxides in good to excellent yields.

Immunogenic Cell Death Inducing Metal Complexes for Cancer Therapy
Metastases and tumor relapse are the leading causes of cancer‐associated deaths. Among other approaches, much research interest has been devoted to immunogenic cell death inducing agents that are able to trigger localized cell death of the cancer cells as well as induce an immune response inside the whole organism.

Cinchona based squaramide catalysed enantioselective Michael addition of a-nitrophosphonates to aryl acrylates: enantioselective synthesis of quaternary a-aminophosphonates [PDF]
Several cinchona based squaramide catalysts were applied to the asymmetric Michael addition of α-nitroethylphosphonates to acrylic acid aryl esters, resulting in high yields and enantioselectivities.
