Down-regulation of the ATP-binding cassette transporter 2 (Abca2) reduces amyloid-β production by altering nicastrin maturation and intracellular localization

open access: yes, 2012
Clinical, pharmacological, biochemical, and genetic evidence support the notion that alteration of cholesterol homeostasis strongly predisposes to Alzheimer disease (AD). The ATP-binding cassette transporter-2 (Abca2), which plays a role in intracellular sterol trafficking, has been genetically linked to AD.

On the convolution product of the distributional families related to the diamond operator

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 2002
In this paper, we introduce a distributional family K_{α,β} which is related to the Diamond operator ♦^k iterated k-times. At first we study the properties of K_{α,β} and then we give a sense to the convolution product of K_{α,β}∗ K_{α',β'} .

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Various methods of estimating constant-partially accelerated life tests of the Odd Kappa-Exponential distribution based on complete data

open access: yesResults in Engineering
This study aims to address a central issue in continuous partially accelerated life testing for complete failure data by developing and comparing eight estimating methods for the two-parameter Odd Kappa-Exponential distribution, which features a flexible

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Dynamical α-Rényi Entropies of Local Hamiltonians Grow at Most Linearly in Time

open access: yesPhysical Review X
We consider a generic one-dimensional spin system of length L, arbitrarily large, with strictly local interactions, for example, nearest neighbor, and prove that the dynamical α-Rényi entropies ...

Thermodynamic Product Relations for Generalized Regular Black Hole

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2016
We derive thermodynamic product relations for four-parametric regular black hole (BH) solutions of the Einstein equations coupled with a nonlinear electrodynamics source. The four parameters can be described by the mass (m), charge (q), dipole moment (α),

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Optimal Inequalities for Power Means

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
We present the best possible power mean bounds for the product Mpα(a,b)M-p1-α(a,b) for any p>0, α∈(0,1), and all a,b>0 with a≠b. Here, Mp(a,b) is the pth power mean of two positive numbers a and b.
