Iterative unique positive solutions for a new class of nonlinear singular higher order fractional differential equations with mixed-type boundary value conditions

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2019
In this paper, we consider a new class of singular nonlinear higher order fractional boundary value problems supplemented with sum of Riemann–Stieltjes integral type and nonlocal infinite-point discrete type boundary conditions. The fractional derivative

The Fractional Derivative of the Dirac Delta Function and Additional Results on the Inverse Laplace Transform of Irrational Functions

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2021
Motivated from studies on anomalous relaxation and diffusion, we show that the memory function M(t) of complex materials, that their creep compliance follows a power law, J(t)∼tq with q∈R+, is proportional to the fractional derivative of the Dirac delta ...

Uncoupled continuous-time random walks: Solution and limiting behavior of the master equation

open access: yes, 2004
A detailed study is presented for a large class of uncoupled continuous-time random walks (CTRWs). The master equation is solved for the Mittag-Leffler survival probability.

A Prospective Study of Individuals at Risk of Multiple Sclerosis Informs the Design of Primary Prevention Studies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective In multiple sclerosis, the optimal time for deploying a therapeutic intervention is before the central nervous system is damaged; given the success of trials treating the earliest stage of MS, the radiologically isolated syndrome, developing primary prevention strategies is an important next challenge.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Positive Solutions to Boundary Value Problems of Nonlinear Fractional Differential Equations

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2011
We study the existence of positive solutions for the boundary value problem of nonlinear fractional differential equations D0+αu(t)+λf(u(t))=0 ...

A New Load Frequency Control Technique for Hybrid Maritime Microgrids: Sophisticated Structure of Fractional-Order PIDA Controller

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2023
This paper proposes an efficient load frequency control (LFC) technique based on a fractional-order proportional–integral–derivative–accelerator with a low-pass filter compensator (FOPIDA-LPF) controller, which can also be accurately referred to as the ...

Innovative Processing of Compacted Waste Aluminum Alloy Powders via Controlled Remelting and Solidification

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

Stationarity-conservation laws for certain linear fractional differential equations

open access: yes, 2001
The Leibniz rule for fractional Riemann-Liouville derivative is studied in algebra of functions defined by Laplace convolution. This algebra and the derived Leibniz rule are used in construction of explicit form of stationary-conserved currents for ...
