Do T asymmetries for neutrino oscillations in uniform matter have a CP-even component?

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
Observables of neutrino oscillations in matter have, in general, contributions from the effective matter potential. It contaminates the CP violation asymmetry adding a fake effect that has been recently disentangled from the genuine one by their ...

Cell geometry and membrane protein crowding constrain Escherichia coli growth rate, overflow metabolism, respiration, and maintenance energy

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

Understanding the molecular basis of agonist/antagonist mechanism of human mu opioid receptor through gaussian accelerated molecular dynamics method

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The most powerful analgesic and addictive properties of opiate alkaloids are mediated by the μ opioid receptor (MOR). The MOR has been extensively investigated as a drug target in the twentieth century, with numerous compounds of varying efficacy being ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

New Results on Analytic Function Subclasses Defined by Tangent Hyperbolic Functions

open access: yesAxioms
This paper introduces coefficient functionals for a new subclass (Stanh*) of starlike functions associated with the tangent hyperbolic function, including the first four sharp coefficient bounds, the Fekete-Szegő problem, Zalcman inequalities, and Hankel

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Study analytical function subordination properties by applying a novel linear operator [version 1; peer review: 2 approved]

open access: yesF1000Research
Background The study of theory for analytic univalent and multivalent functions is an old subject in mathematics, particularly in complex analysis, that has captivated a great deal of scholars owing to the sheer sophistication of its geometrical features

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

New Conformally Invariant Born–Infeld Models and Geometrical Currents

open access: yesPhysics
A new conformally invariant gravitational generalization of the Born–Infeld (BI) model is proposed and analyzed from the point of view of symmetries. Taking a geometric identity involving the determinant functions detfBμν, Fμν with the Bach Bμν and the ...

Sudden anaerobization in Amphibacillus xylanus increases intracellular labile ferrous iron and inhibits cell growth

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...
