Crystal structure of 2-(adamantan-1-yl)-5-(4-bromophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2014
In the title molecule, C18H19BrN2O, the benzene ring is inclined to the oxadiazole ring by 10.44 (8)°. In the crystal, C—H...π interactions link the molecules in a head-to-tail fashion, forming chains extending along the c-axis direction.

Overturning established chemoselectivities : selective reduction of arenes over malonates and cyanoacetates by photoactivated organic electron donors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The prevalence of metal-based reducing reagents, including metals, metal complexes, and metal salts, has produced an empirical order of reactivity that governs our approach to chemical synthesis.

Time‐Resolved Magnetization Switching Dynamics Driven by Orbital Torques

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Du et al. reveal nanosecond magnetization switching driven by orbital currents using time‐resolved Hall detection. The measurements separate domain nucleation from domain wall propagation and show that Joule heating strongly assists switching by lowering energy barriers.

N-Centered Chiral Self-Sorting and Supramolecular Helix of Tröger's Base-Based Dimeric Macrocycles in Crystalline State

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2019
Three stereoisomers of Tröger's Base-based dimeric macrocycles Trögerophane 1 (T1) including one pair of enantiomers (rac-T1) and one meso isomer (R2NS2N-T1) were obtained and fully characterized by X-ray analysis.

From Paramagnetic to Superparamagnetic Ionic Liquid/Poly(ionic liquid): The Effect of π–π Stacking Interaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Magnetic ionic liquids (MILs) and poly(magnetic ionic liquids) (PMILs) with FeCl4– as anions usually show weak magnetism, such as paramagnetism or antiferromagnetism, at room temperature.

2-Oxo-2H-chromen-4-yl 4-ethylbenzoate

open access: yesIUCrData
In the title compound, C18H14O4, the dihedral angle between the coumarin moiety and the phenyl fragment is 63.46 (5)°. In the crystal, the molecules are linked by weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds and aromatic π–π stacking interactions. A short C=O...π [O...π =
