Efficient Process Development for Laser Powder Bed Fusion of a Soft‐Magnetic Metallic Glass Composite

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Iron‐based metallic glass alloys exhibit excellent soft‐magnetic properties, and unprecedented geometrical freedom in the design of soft‐magnetic metallic glass components is made possible by additive manufacturing. An efficient workflow for developing parameters for laser‐based powder bed fusion of a Fe‐based metallic glass alloy is presented along ...

Enhancing sensitivity to leptonic CP violation using complementarity among DUNE, T2HK, and T2HKK

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2023
After the landmark discovery of non-zero $$\theta _{13}$$ θ 13 by the modern reactor experiments, unprecedented precision on neutrino mass-mixing parameters has been achieved over the past decade.

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

Applying periodic and anti-periodic boundary conditions in existence results of fractional differential equations via nonlinear contractive mappings

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2023
We introduce a notion of nonlinear cyclic orbital ( ξ − F ) $(\xi -\mathscr{F})$ -contraction and prove related results. With these results, we address the existence and uniqueness results with periodic/anti-periodic boundary conditions for: 1.

Interactions between Molten High‐Silicon Electrical Steels and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

An approximation of the Hurwitz zeta function by a finite sum

open access: yesLietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys, 2003
We obtain the following version of the approximation of the Hurwitz zeta-function. Let σ ≥ 0 and |t| ≤ π x. Then ζ(s, α) = ∑0 ≤ n ≤ x 1/(n + α)s +{ (x + α)1−s}/(s − 1) + Θ ({7√2π−1 + 3}/xσ).

Strength characteristics and damage constitutive model of sandstone under hydro-mechanical coupling

open access: yesApplied Rheology, 2023
To study the mechanical properties of saturated sandstone, experiments were conducted under hydro-mechanical coupling on saturated sandstone. A damage constitutive model was established to describe the response of saturated sandstone under pore pressure,

Sustainable Synthesis of Bio‐Based Magnetic and Conductive Wood for Electromagnetic Interference Shielding Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A wood‐based magnetic and conductive material called Magwood (MW), capable of blocking almost 99.99% of electromagnetic waves (in the X‐band frequency range), is synthesized using a simple, solvent‐free process. MW is lightweight, resists water, and is flame‐retardant, making it a promising alternative for shielding electronics. The rapid proliferation

Distribution of Electrical Resistivity in Single Carbon Fiber Filaments and Its Correlation With Tensile Modulus

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A statistical framework is applied to quantify the distribution of electrical resistivity among individual filaments of two commercially available carbon fiber types. Correlations between filament resistivity, tensile modulus, and diameter are examined and complemented by TEM analysis to provide new insight into filament‐level variability relevant for ...

Observation of the ψð3686ß decays into Σ+ Σ - ω and Σ+ Σ - φ

open access: yes, 2023
Based on (2712.4 +/- 14.3) x 106 events recorded at the psi(3686) nominal mass collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, the psi(3686) -> E +/- E over bar -omega and E +/- E over bar -phi decays are observed for the first time with statistical significances of 13.8 sigma and 7.6 sigma, respectively.
