A new approach to measure changes of polarization state is considered. The method is based on the calculation of the coefficient of residual polarization. Two experimental setups based on incoherent white light source and infrared light source for imaging of the skin pathology with polarimetric processing are developed.

The study presented is dedicated to optical properties and morphology of isolated silver nanoislands and silver nanoisland films fabricated on a glass surface using the out-diffusion and the thermal poling techniques. The enhancement of Raman scattering by these nanostructures is evaluated for the first time.
