In this paper, the parameters of the arc-extinguishing gas affecting the shut-off capacity of the arc-extinguishing device are investigated, the modernization of the 500kV, 50kA arc-extinguishing device is proposed and an assessment of the increase in its shut-off capacity is carried out.
