Mechanochemical Dissociation of Singlet Carbene–CS2 Adducts

The mechanochemical release of carbon disulfide (CS2) from singlet carbene–CS₂ adducts is explored. While N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) and N,N’‐diamidocarbene (DAC) adducts exhibit complete conversion, cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbene (CAAC) adduct undergoes decomposition.

Enantioselective Complexation of Protonated Tyrosine by a Chiral Crown‐ether: The Nature of the Hydrogen Bonds Makes the Difference

Conformer‐selective laser spectroscopy under cryogenic ion trap conditions unravels the binding preference of a chiral crown ether for one of the enantiomers of an amino acid. The preference of (‐) (18‐crown‐6)‐tetracarboxylic acid for (L) relative to (D) ‐ tyrosine results from different hydrogen bonds pattern.

Burst Safety Analysis of Strengthened FeCrAl Claddings in APR1400 Fuel Rods Subject to LOCA Conditions

Energy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 2, Page 728-741, February 2025.
A computational framework is developed to evaluate the thermo‐mechanical performance of APR1400 fuel rods with FeCrAl claddings under normal and LOCA conditions. Results show that reducing the pellet‐cladding gap enhances heat conduction and burst safety, while an 80% strength enhancement in FeCrAl claddings improves burst safety by up to 80%.
