Modification of standardized precipitation index in different climates of Iran
Meteorological Applications, Volume 30, Issue 5, September/October 2023., 2023 The results showed that the default Gamma probability distribution is not a proper distribution of monthly rainfall data at the studied meteorological stations. There is a clear difference between the standardized precipitation index (SPI) and modified SPI in monitoring drought classes at lower time scales (less than 6 months).
