An experimental approach to assess the combined effects of multiple stressors on a large vertebrate species

Abstract The design of experiments to investigate the combined effects of multiple stressors requires exposing target organisms to multiple combinations of stressor doses. Concurrent manipulation of stressors is often infeasible with wildlife, but long‐lasting health effects allow individual health to be used as an integrator of prior stressor exposure.

Estimating the total mortality of seabirds following a marine heat wave

Abstract Marine heat waves detrimentally affect a range of marine species, including seabirds, and are increasing in frequency and severity. When thousands of dead seabirds wash up on beaches, the public becomes concerned. However, the number of dead birds recorded on beaches is only a fraction of the total mortality; most birds perish at sea.

Abstract Red lists provide critical knowledge regarding biodiversity decline, especially in Finland, where broad assessments have been made regularly since the 1980s. 黑籽重楼种内AFLP遗传多样性及遗传分化研究

以四川瓦屋山、峨眉山和彭州3个地区的黑籽重楼原变种居群及峨眉山、彭州2个地区的无瓣黑籽居群为供试材料,用筛选出的4对引物,对5个群体共计74个个体进行AFLP分析,每对AFLP引物扩增出61～78条多态带,共得到235条多态带.黑籽重楼遗传多样性较高,物种水平的多态带百分率PPB为81.88%,Nei’s基因多样性指数H为0.2490,Shannon多样性指数I为0.3867,居群间基因流为1.6870;在变种水平上,黑籽重楼原变种PPB为78.40%,Nei’s基因多样性指数H为0.2849 ...
