Highlights Childhood obesity was significantly associated with the increased risk of insulin resistance (IR). There were 12 metabolites co‐associated with childhood obesity and IR, including seven amino acid and five fatty acid metabolites. The combination of body mass index standard deviation score and key metabolites could effectively predict the ...

Obstruction of biodiversity conservation by minimum patch size criteria
Abstract Minimum patch size criteria for habitat protection reflect the conservation principle that a single large (SL) patch of habitat has higher biodiversity than several small (SS) patches of the same total area (SL > SS). Nonetheless, this principle is often incorrect, and biodiversity conservation requires placing more emphasis on protection of ...

We collected Amur tiger track data and occurrence data through snow track tracking, sample line surveys, and camera traps. The study concluded that forest roads, scrub vegetation, and human landscape factors were the main factors influencing Amur tiger movements at fine scales and examined the negative correlation between tiger path curvature values ...

Highlights Transcutaneous oxygen pressure (TcPO2) could be used to assess microcirculation, which revealed endothelial injury. As endothelial injury is a cause of albuminuria in diabetic kidney disease (DKD), albuminuria and creatinine (ACR) might be employed to assess microcirculation in DKD patients in rural hospital where TcPO2 is not available. Our

Timing of hydrologic anomalies direct impacts on migration traits in a flood pulse fishery system
We designed a spectral analysis framework to quantify hydrological variation and linked it with fishery harvest records. Quantified effect sizes of hydrologic anomalous events demonstrated one designed hydrograph for fishery benefits: properly timed prolong drought followed by a strong flood pulse.

Abstract Trauma survivors with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) frequently also suffer from difficulties in social functioning that range across emotional, cognitive, and environmental domains. A detailed evaluation of the differential impacts of effective PTSD treatments on social functioning is needed.

The Asian Songbird Crises negatively affects so‐called master birds, species that are used to increase the song complexity of competitive songbirds. We assessed the trade in a master bird, the crested jayshrike, in Indonesia before and after its legal protection.

Highlights This post hoc analysis of the GetGoal‐O trial suggests that add‐on therapy with lixisenatide in non‐frail patients aged ≥70 years with type 2 diabetes uncontrolled on basal insulin is safe and well tolerated and should be considered in this patient population as an alternative to rapid‐acting insulin.
