Community Assembly Mechanism of Woody Plants at Different Successional Stages in Karst Areas Based on Functional Traits and Phylogeny. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
This study reveals a shift in woody plant community assembly from competitive exclusion in early succession to habitat filtering in later stages within karst areas. Environmental distance (80.54%) contributed significantly more than geographical distance (9.95%), providing strong quantitative evidence that niche processes, particularly habitat ...

Nectar robbing by bees affects the reproductive fitness of the distylous plant Tirpitzia sinensis (Linaceae)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 13, Issue 11, November 2023., 2023
Nectar robbing could directly and indirectly decrease the female fitness of Tirpitzia sinensis, and different morphs have evolved different defense mechanisms in response to nectar robbing pressure. Abstract Nectar robbing can affect plant reproductive success directly by influencing female and male fitness, and indirectly by affecting pollinator ...

Climate change affects Galliformes taxonomic, phylogenetic and functional diversity indexes, shifting conservation priority areas in China

open access: yesDiversity and Distributions, Volume 29, Issue 3, Page 409-422, March 2023., 2023
Abstract Aim Comprehensive biodiversity protection necessitates the consideration of multiple indexes of diversity, and how the distribution patterns of priority areas may shift under climate change. Galliformes is a globally endangered avian order vulnerable to climate change that provide an important indicator for wildlife conservation effectiveness.

Size‐dependent and environment‐mediated shifts in leaf traits of a deciduous tree species in a subtropical forest

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 12, Issue 1, January 2022., 2022
Plant size and environment independently shaped the variations in intraspecific leaf traits of Clausena dunniana in the subtropical karst forest of Maolan. Compared with plant size, the environment played a more critical role in shaping intraspecific leaf trait variations, and potentially also the underlying individual‐level plant resource‐use ...

Characteristics of Plantar Pressure Distribution in Diabetes with or without Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy and Peripheral Arterial Disease

open access: yesJournal of Healthcare Engineering, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Background. Excessive plantar pressure leads to increased risk of diabetic foot ulcers. Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) and peripheral arterial disease (PAD) have been considered to be associated with alterations in gait and plantar pressure in diabetic patients. However, few studies have differentiated the effects with each of them. Objective. To

Does sensitive skin represent a skin condition or manifestations of other disorders?

open access: yesJournal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Volume 20, Issue 7, Page 2058-2061, July 2021., 2021
Abstract Sensitive skin or cutaneous sensory syndrome is defined as a skin condition that is hypersensitive to stimuli, presented with itching, irritant, erythema, and dryness. However, is it associated with more than impairment of epidermal functions, psychological stress and topical medication or products?

Single‐nucleotide polymorphism rs4142441 and MYC co‐modulated long non‐coding RNA OSER1‐AS1 suppresses non‐small cell lung cancer by sequestering ELAVL1

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 112, Issue 6, Page 2272-2286, June 2021., 2021
Our results demonstrated that long non‐coding RNA OSER1‐AS1 performed tumor suppressive function by forming an RNA‐protein complex with ELAVL1 and sequester it from binding and stabilizing its target mRNAs, and it may serve as a potential prognosis markers for patients with NSCLC. Abstract Single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) and long non‐coding RNAs (

Development and Validation of Near‐Infrared Methods for the Quantitation of Caffeine, Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate, and Moisture in Green Tea Production

open access: yesJournal of Analytical Methods in Chemistry, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
The quality of tea leaves (e.g., their color, appearance, and taste) can be directly influenced by the tea production process, which is closely connected with the content of a number of chemical components formed during the production of the tea leaves.

喀斯特坡地侵蚀性降雨阈值初探

open access: yesShuitu Baochi Xuebao, 2023
