Background: Canine atopic dermatitis (cAD) is a common, chronic skin condition characterised by epidermal barrier dysfunction, immune dysregulation and cutaneous dysbiosis. While “emollient plus” formulations are widely used in human atopic dermatitis, their role in cAD remains underexplored. Hypothesis/Objectives: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and

This paper proposes a ‘relaxed’ point‐count survey method to enhance accessibility and expand geographic coverage by easing these constraints. Surveys can be conducted in diverse locations, including urban areas and travel routes, within flexible timeframes (e.g., 6 h after sunrise or during the evening) and with adaptable spacing between survey points,

Seasonality of temperature dependence of methane fluxes from natural wetlands
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Temperature dependence is a crucial parameter in estimating methane (CH4) fluxes from natural wetlands, yet our understanding of this parameter remains inadequate. Seasonal fluctuations in water levels and ecosystem productivity lead to seasonal differences in CH4 ...

Tropical secondary forest at early sucessional stage had higher diamter growth rate and mortality rate, however, these forests also are more risked to droughts and high temperatures. Rising temperatures and more frequent droughts may decrease the carbon sink capacity of tropical forest ecosystems. Abstract Tropical forests are major carbon sinks on the

Using long‐term field data, we examined the impact of severe droughts on the health, reproductive success, and behavior of the critically endangered Verreaux's sifaka (Propithecus verreauxi) in Madagascar's seasonally dry tropical forest. Despite reduced availability of high‐quality foods, sifaka exhibited stable body condition and reproductive success,

Adaptive spatiotemporal management to reduce shark bycatch in tuna fisheries
Abstract Purse‐seine tropical tuna fishing in the eastern tropical Pacific Ocean (EPO) results in the bycatch of several sensitive species groups, including elasmobranchs. Effective ecosystem management balances conservation and resource use and requires considering trade‐offs and synergies.

Change in cyclone disaster vulnerability and response in coastal Bangladesh
The number of deaths owing to tropical cyclones in Bangladesh has significantly reduced. Category 4 Cyclone Gorky in 1991 and Sidr in 2007 caused 147,000 and 4,500 deaths respectively, whereas Category 1 Cyclone Mora in 2017 resulted in six. Face‐to‐face interviews with 362 residents, participant observation, and focus‐group discussions answer a ...
