Global drivers of the conservation–invasion paradox

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 39, Issue 5, October 2025.
Abstract The conservation–invasion paradox (CIP) refers to a long‐term phenomenon wherein species threatened in their native range can sustain viable populations when introduced to other regions. Understanding the drivers of CIP is helpful for conserving threatened species and managing invasive species, which is unfortunately still lacking. We compiled

Exploring gaps, biases, and research priorities in the evidence for reptile conservation actions

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 39, Issue 5, October 2025.
Abstract With over 21% of reptile species threatened with extinction, there is an urgent need to ensure conservation actions to protect and restore populations are informed by relevant, reliable evidence. We examined the geographic and taxonomic distribution of 707 studies that tested the effects of actions to conserve reptiles synthesized in ...

Exploring the importance of aromatic plants' extrafloral volatiles for pollinator attraction

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 248, Issue 2, Page 517-528, October 2025.
Summary Aromatic plants occur in many plant lineages and have widespread ethnobiological significance. Yet, the ecological significance and evolutionary origins of aromatic volatile emissions remain uncertain. Aromatic emissions have been implicated in defensive interactions but may also have other important functions.

Energy-driven mechanism of failure and instability of anchored surrounding rock in deep gob-side entry [PDF]

open access: yes
Affected by the dynamic load induced by the fracture of lateral roof in the deep gob-side entry, the anchored surrounding rock is prone to produce large deformation, even failure and instability.

Staghorn Ferns in Botanical Gardens: Which Species Do We Really Cultivate or Trade?

open access: yesIntegrative Conservation, Volume 4, Issue 3, Page 416-429, September 2025.
Staghorn ferns are among the most highly valued ornamental plants but several species experience major extinction threats. Here we establish a DNA barcoding reference dataset to support reliable identification of cultivated staghorn ferns to secure species identity of individuals at all life stages that are used in ex situ and in situ conservation of ...

open access: yesGaoya dianqi, 2019

CFDEM simulation on the linkage effect between floor faults failure and roof collapse in ultra-thick coal seam [PDF]

open access: yes
The ultra-thick coal seam has a large mining space and a wide range of overburden disturbance. The strong disturbance of loading and unloading caused by the roof collapse can easily exacerbate the failure of floor faults.

open access: yesGaoya dianqi, 2020
