Unpacking value destruction at the intersection between public and private value

open access: yesPublic Administration, Volume 101, Issue 4, Page 1207-1226, December 2023., 2023
Abstract Public services do not always create value. Rather, when poorly organized and/or delivered, they can destroy value and make service users' lives worse. However, such “value destruction” is presently weakly conceptualized in public management theory. Consequently, this paper is devoted to the empirical examination of value destruction and hence

Sociodemographic circumstances, health, and life experience shape posttraumatic distress trajectories among individuals exposed to smoke during a large‐scale coal mine fire

open access: yesJournal of Traumatic Stress, Volume 36, Issue 2, Page 465-473, April 2023., 2023
Abstract The 2014 Hazelwood coal mine fire in the Latrobe Valley, Australia, distributed toxic smoke into surrounding communities over 45 days. This study investigated risk and protective factors associated with four trajectories of posttraumatic distress (resilient, recovery, delayed‐onset, chronic) among exposed adults.

The impact of neurotoxicant exposures on posttraumatic stress disorder trajectories: The Ft. Devens Gulf War Veterans Cohort

open access: yesJournal of Traumatic Stress, Volume 35, Issue 3, Page 955-966, June 2022., 2022
Abstract Gulf War veterans (GWVs) were exposed to neurotoxicants, including sarin nerve gas, anti–nerve agent pills, pesticides, oil well fires, and fumes from unvented tent heaters, all of which have been associated with subsequent adverse health.

Global Mapping of Traditional Chinese Medicine into Bioactivity Space and Pathways Annotation Improves Mechanistic Understanding and Discovers Relationships between Therapeutic Action (Sub)classes

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Volume 2016, Issue 1, 2016., 2016
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) still needs more scientific rationale to be proven for it to be accepted further in the West. We are now in the position to propose computational hypotheses for the mode‐of‐actions (MOAs) of 45 TCM therapeutic action (sub)classes from in silico target prediction algorithms, whose target was later annotated with Kyoto ...

大跨度建筑钢结构抗火性能研究进展与趋势

open access: yesJianzhu Gangjiegou Jinzhan, 2022

Polarization Loss Enhancement Induced by Interfacial Contact Regulation Strategy to Develop Nickel Silicate/Reduced Graphene Oxide for Microwave Absorption and Corrosion Resistance

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Interface polarization enhancement and impedance matching optimization are the keys to improving the comprehensive performance of microwave absorbing materials (MAMs). Herein, a green synthesis strategy integrating sacrificial template self‐etching, hydrothermal reaction, and annealing treatment is proposed to successfully fabricate urchin ...

Wildfire strengthens the relationship between soil biodiversity and ecosystem multifunctionality in subtropical forests

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 40, Issue 5, Page 1415-1427, May 2026.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Wildfires are disrupting and regenerating forces in nature that affect all ecosystem components. However, the impact of wildfires on soil multitrophic biodiversity and the resulting consequences for ecosystem multifunctionality (EMF) remain poorly understood.

空腔部分填充的轻钢复合墙体耐火性能研究

open access: yesJianzhu Gangjiegou Jinzhan, 2023

Regulating TGO Nucleation and Growth of MCrAlX Coatings via Femtosecond Laser Remelting: The Role of Reactive Elements in the Oxidation Resistance

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT MCrAlX coatings are widely used as bond coats in thermal barrier coating systems to protect turbine blades from high‐temperature oxidation. However, their oxidation resistance is often restricted by uncontrolled microstructures, surface roughness, and aggregation of reactive elements (REs). In this study, high‐repetition‐rate femtosecond laser

Adaptive Crystallization of NiFe‐MIL‐55 Nanorods: Atomically Precise Shape Control and Dual‐Function Electrocatalytic Performance

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT NiFe‐based MIL‐55 metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) face challenges in achieving atomically precise composition and reliable methods for uniform growth. This study addresses these challenges by applying a slow evaporation crystallization technique to crude colloidal MIL‐55 products from hydrothermal synthesis, resulting in highly uniform ...
